Origin Overclocks EON17-S Laptop Up To 4.5GHz, Guarantees Stability

You almost get the feeling that Origin might be a little bored simply putting together high-end systems with parts from the top shelf. The solution? Overclock, and do it in a big way. Starting today, Origin is offering overclocked processors in its EON17-S laptops, up to 4.5GHz with Turbo Boost, making it the highest mobile processor clockspeed in the world, the company says.

"The EON17-S laptops are remarkably portable and with 2nd generation Intel processors overclocked to 4.5GHz, they are the fastest Origin laptops every built on an Intel mobile platform," said Kevin Wasielewski, Origin CEO and co-founder.

EON17-S laptops have been updated with B3 stepping motherboards, so you needn't stress about quirky SATA ports giving up the ghost prematurely. Other features include a 17.3-inch Full HD LED backlit screen, customizable Origin top cover, 2nd generation Core i5 or i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M (1.5GB) or GTX 485M (2GB) graphics, up to 32GB of DDR3-1333 or up to 16GB of DDR3-1600, optional Blu-ray drive, hybrid and SSD drive with RAID options, HDMI, 7.1 HD audio, 802.11n Wi-Fi, optional TV tuner, USB 3.0, eSATA, and a full-size keyboard with numpad.

Pricing for an EON17-S laptop starts at $1,759.
