Pagani's Huayra Roadster BC Is A $3.4 Million, 800 HP Hypercar Performance Demon

Money may not buy happiness, but I don't imagine there will be many miserable faces sitting behind the steering wheel inside Pagani's newly unveiled Huayra Roadster BC. Born out of a research project that began in 2017, the Huayra Roadster BC is a street-legal hypercar that is one part artwork and several parts a beastly automobile.

Pagani says the BC model weighs 2,756 pounds, which is 66 pounds lighter than the regular Roadster model. The engineers at Pagani were able to shave some weight off by using lighter materials, such as carbon-titanium HP62 comprising the monocoque structure. It also features front and rear tubular steel subframes, and a forged aluminum alloy independent wishbone with helical springs and electronic controlled shock absorbers.

Underneath the hood sits a twin-turbocharged, 6.0-liter V12 engine that kicks out 791 horsepower—just enough to zip to the market and back during halftime (though nowhere near the 2,000 HP Lotus Evija). Pagani rates the torque at 775 lb-ft, from 2,000-5,600 RPM. A seven-speed single-clutch automated gearbox puts all this power at the driver's control.

These are beastly specs for sure, though curiously missing from it all are any speed claims, including the hypercar's top speed or its 0-60 MPH time. We imagine they are impressive, though, leaving other drivers on the road with a temporary glimpse of the all-new exhaust system made of titanium and arranged in Pagani's familiar square configuration.

Interestingly, Pagani has partnered with Zynga to debut the Huayra Roadster BC in a mobile game—CSR Racing 2 (CSR2)—before it releases to the public. This is the first time a car manufacturer has gone this route.

"CSR2 gives players the opportunity to drive rare and exquisite cars that most of us only experience in our dreams," said Julian Widdows, Vice President of CSR2. "Seeing the Pagani Roadster BC’s smooth and elegant racing on the streets of CSR2 is a triumphant amalgamation of science and art. We couldn’t be prouder to be Pagani Automobili’s chosen partner to unveil the Roadster BC to the public."

CSR2 is free to download on Android and iOS. As for the actual car, well, that will set you back around $3.4 million.
