Palm Pre Launching June 6th On Sprint: $199.99

At long last, we can wonder no longer. After waiting months and months, Palm and Sprint have finally come to an agreement on when the company's forthcoming flagship product will launch: June 6th. Originally announced this past January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the much-hyped Pre was slated to hit Sprint sometime during the first half of this year. Until today, however, we've had no idea what exact day that would be.

The smartphone will be the first ever to utilize Palm's newly created webOS operating system, and obviously it will be offered exclusively from Sprint. The phone will be on sale starting June 6th across America in Sprint  stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, select Wal-Mart stores and online at Sprint.com. Those looking to buy in will be required to part with $199.99 and sign a new two-year service agreement -- not to mention wait for a $100 mail-in rebate to return. Oh, and in case you're wondering, June 6th is exactly two days prior to Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, where iPhone OS 3.0 will launch and the next-generation iPhone is expected to launch. June just got a whole lot wilder for smartphone fans.
