Phillips Brilliance 499P9H 49-inch Ultra-Wide Curved Double QHD Display Now On Sale

Months after it was first announced, Phillips has announced that the Brilliance 499P9H ultra-wide monitor is now available for sale. Phillips is aiming the monitor at the business sector, and we’re almost certain that business professionals will come to appreciate its vast amount of screen real estate and productivity-minded features.

The Brilliance 499P9H measures 49-inch diagonally with an extremely wide 32:9 aspect ratio. The resolution of the display checks in at 5120x1440, which Phillips says is the equivalent of replacing two 27-inch QHD displays on your desk. The screen gently wraps around your field of view with a curvature of 1800R.

The Brilliance 499P9H uses a 5ms VA panel with brightness rating of 450 nits (VESA-certified HDR400), a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and it has a 60Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync/Adaptive Sync support (48Hz to 70Hz). Philips says that the display covers 91 percent of the Adobe RGB and 121 percent of the sRGB colors spaces and supports viewing angles of 178 degrees (both horizontal and vertical).

The display incorporates two HDMI ports along with a DisplayPort 1.4 connection. In addition, there are a number of pro-business features including a USB-C 3.1 dock (65W Power Delivery), two USB-A 3.0 GbE controller and an integrated KVM switch for using just a single monitor between two PCs.

Another intriguing feature of the Brilliance 499P9H is the inclusion of a 2MP Windows Hello webcam for logging into Windows 10. When not in use, the camera and is hidden away; but when you need it, it pops up from its own silo housed at the top-center of the display bezel.

The Phillips Brilliance 499P9H is currently available in Europe priced at €1,099. There is no word yet on U.S. availability or pricing.
