The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are still excellent flagship Android 9 Pie smartphones even though they first launched nearly a year ago (read the HotHardware review here). In addition to offering good all-around performance, the onboard rear camera is arguably the best available in the smartphone world.

For those that are looking to score a hot deal on either the Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL, signing up for Google Fi service will allow you get a device for a whopping $300 off. That means that the 64GB versions of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will cost you just $499 and $599 respectively instead of $799 and $899. The only stipulation to qualify for the $300 discount (which automatically shows up in your cart) is that you have to activate each device with Google Fi within 30 days of receiving your shipping email. So, you could technically get the phone and sign up for a month of service ($20 for unlimited calls/text plus $10 for 1GB of data) and then ditch Google Fi after your first month. After that point, you could take the Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL to any U.S. carrier of your choice.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and come paired with 4GB of RAM. The former comes with a 5.5-inch FHD+ display, while the latter ups the stakes with a larger 6.3-inch FHD+ display. Both smartphones feature a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and the absolutely excellent 12.2MP rear camera with Night Sight support.

In the coming months, Google will be releasing the successor to these smartphones in the form of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Google has already teased what the back of the smartphones will look like, showing that the company is finally moving away from a single camera on the rear. Google has also apparently ditched the notch up front with the Pixel 4 XL, and we're expecting the adoption of an in-display fingerprint reader across the board.
