PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX Vega 56 Debuts With Custom Triple-Cooler Design
We're staring at the Red Dragon RX Vega 56, which is decked out in a black and red color scheme with accenting dragons on the fans. PowerColor has been an exclusive partner for AMD-based graphics cards, and this latest entry is no different. It is a custom board design and the Radeon RX Vega 56 GPU features 3584 Stream processors along with 8GB of HBM2 memory clocked at 800MHz. As for the core clock, the standard Radeon RX Vega 56 has a base clock of 1156MHz and a boost clock of 1,471MHz. The Red Dragon RX Vega 56 maxes out at 1,487MHz, which is a slight increase over reference cards.
There is a rather beefy heatsink lurking underneath the menacing triple-cooler setup, and there is allegedly a BIOS switch that can switch the card from Overclocking Mode to Silent Mode. There aren't any other surprises with this card, as you'll find two HDMI ports and two DisplayPort hookups on the double-stacked I/O rear panel.
The Red Dragon RX Vega 56 is the first entry in the series, and a Radeon RX Vega 64 variant is also incoming. At this time, there is no word on pricing for the PowerColor Red Dragon RX Vega 56, but we do know that it will launch on March 28th.
