PUBG's Second Xbox One Patch Addresses Serious Performance And Stability Issues

PUBG

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the highly popular battle royale shooter that has taken the gaming community by storm, only launched to Xbox One less than two weeks ago. Be that as it may, the developers have been busy cleaning up the code and tweaking the experience. The game's first patch for Xbox One addressed inconsistent performance and stomped out bugs. Now there is a second patch rolling out to Xbox One users.

According to the release notes, the second patch offers another round of performance optimizations, and fixes a variety of annoying bugs that have been causing the game to crash for some users. It also fixes an issue where the casting bar UI remains on screen when spectating a target who died while using an item from their inventory.

"The team will continue to evaluate areas for improvement, whether its client and server optimizations or monitoring the current 'Car Meta'. Our second patch is focused on quality of life fixes (weapon recoil for example) as well as trying to resolve some of the stability issues that have been brought to our attention," a community manager posted in the PUBG forums.

Xbox One players can also expect a few in-game tweaks after applying the latest patch. They include:
  • The tuning range for the general sensitivity option has been expanded
  • Weapon recoil reduced across the board (Xbox Only)
  • Team UI will now correctly display voice chat status
  • Additional Localization updates
It's good to see the developers actively working to improve the game experience with timely updates. That isn't going to stop, either—there is another patch for Xbox One that, if everything goes to plan, will be release early next year. In the meantime, the developers are monitoring player feedback and have committed to addressing critical issues over the holiday break, should any arise.
