Raspberry Pi 8GB Bundle Ships Alongside New Online Projects Portal

Historically, hardware makers in the technology space have had it fairly tough. Entry costs are extremely high, finding a manufacturing facility that meets high standards is tough, and judging just how interested a consumer base is in advance is nearly impossible to nail. But when it comes to the Raspberry Pi, that's one product that has seemingly caught fire. Of course, the open source base and the ultra-cheap pricing probably has helped tremendously, but either way, we're glad that it's living to see yet another day. Element14 has just unveiled a new 8GB Raspberry Pi Bundle, which will ship for $40.

The new pack incorporates a Raspberry Pi B Board and an 8GB SD card with the all six of the official Raspberry Pi Foundation approved operating systems preloaded on the memory card. The 8GB SD card provides users with all the space they will need to create and store their Raspberry Pi projects.  In order to bring owners even closer together, Element14 is also launching a new online resource: Raspberry Pi Projects, which provides a single location for Raspberry Pi owners of all skill levels to highlight their creations and learn how to move onto the next level.

The 8GB Raspberry Pi Bundle is available from Farnell element14 in Europe, CPC in the UK and Ireland, Newark element14 and MCM in North America and element14 in APAC. If you've been watching from the sidelines up until now, it's a pretty good chance to give those DIY muscles a bit of exercise.
