Raspberry Pi Launches Official Mouse And Keyboard For Its Single-Board PCs

It’s surprising that it took Raspberry Pi so long to come up with its own official input devices, but here they are. The keyboard is available with a white deck and a red base. There is also some red detailing on a number of the keys to liven things up a bit along with a red USB cord to plug into your board.  The keyboard is also available in a solid black version (black keys, deck, and cord) if you prefer to go “stealth.”

The keyboard connects to your Raspberry Pi with a microUSB port, and has an integrated hub with three USB-A host ports on the back, which opens up your connectivity options. Currently, the keyboard will be produced in six layouts: English (UK), English (US), Spanish, French, German, and Italian. However, the company expects to offer more key layouts in the near future.

To go along with the official keyboard is a new USB mouse. This is a rather basic three-button optical mouse with a scroll wheel that uses Omron switches. It too is available in the traditional Raspberry Pi two-toned white/red design aesthetic (with a red USB cord), or you can opt for a solid black motif.

The official Raspberry Pi keyboard and mouse are available to purchase now priced at $17 and $8 respectively. They can be obtained from Raspberry Pi’s usual retail partners while supplies last.
