Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds Announced To Challenge AirPods
The lag-free playback is thanks to the Hammerhead earphones using Bluetooth 5.0, which promises gaming mode latency of 60 ms. They use a 13mm driver, have a frequency response of 20-20kHz, promise a "broad soundscape", and deep bass with top-end clarity to be able to hear everything in the game from voices to explosions.
The wireless headphones have three hours of battery life per charge, but ship with a battery case that can charge them on the go. The battery case will recharge the Hammerhead earbuds up to four times before it needs to be topped off via USB-C. That means a total of 15 hours of battery life. Razer Hammerhead earphones are IPX4 rated for sweat and splash protection.
They have touch controls for media playback, a wireless range of 30-feet, and a smartphone app is available for Android and iOS devices. Hammerhead does have an integrated omnidirectional microphone for taking calls, and the touch controls support answer, reject, switch, and end calls. Razer is selling the Hammerhead for $99.99.
Razer has also unveiled the Junglecat, which is a dual-sided mobile gaming controller with the dual configurations for mobile and desktop play. It has twin analog sticks and bumper buttons on each side. The left side has a 4-way d-pad with the right offering four extra action buttons. It pairs with Windows PCs and Android smartphones or tablets. Junglecat is available now for $99.99.
