Razer Launches Lightweight Kraken X Gaming Headset Priced At $50
Headsets can really add to your gaming experience, however, many are notoriously uncomfortable and headache-inducing. Razer just introduced the Kraken X, an inexpensive and comfortable wired gaming headset aimed at gamers.
According to lvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Peripherals at Razer the Kraken X is “...ultra-light and incredibly comfortable, so you can game for hours with it”. The Kraken X gaming headset only weighs 0.55 pounds (250 grams) and is one of the lightest gaming headsets currently on the market. It includes an adjustable headband, memory foam and cooling gel ear cushions. Razer also claims that the headset is “glasses-friendly”. Anyone who wears prescription glasses knows how uncomfortable it can be to place a headset over the temple.
The Kraken X incorporates a bendable cardioid microphone that suppresses background noises and there are also volume controls on headset earcup. Users will be able to quickly adjust their volume or mute their microphone.
All Razer gaming headsets that are under the $99.99 USD price mark, including the Kraken X, will now include 7.1 surround sound. The 7.1 surround sound software “provides accurate positional audio in the middle of battle”. Razer believes that this feature will give gamers an advantage over their competitors. 7.1 surround sound is available with the Kraken X on Windows 10 64-bit and Kraken 2019 owners will receive an activation code for the new sound software.
The Kraken X is available in two colors. PC gamers can pick up the Kraken X in classic black, while console gamers can also choose a black and blue variant. The headset is compatible with PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. The Kraken X rings in at a mere $49.99 USD and is therefore quite an affordable option for gamers.
