Razer Mamba HyperFlux Gaming Mouse: Wireless, Battery-Less And Self-Charging

Razer has been rolling out some very nice gaming peripherals for years now, and at CES 2018 the company has unveiled a wireless mouse that needs no cord and no battery to operate. The mouse is called the Mamba HyperFlux and it works in conjunction with the Razer Firefly HyperFlux mouse mat. These two products are the first to use the Razer HyperFlux technology that allows the mouse mat to create a magnetic field that transfers power directly to the mouse.

This means as long as the mouse mat is plugged in, the wireless and battery-free mouse gets all the juice it needs to operate. Razer says that this allows the Mamba HyperFlux mouse to be as light as a corded mouse, but eliminates gamers having to deal with that cord while playing.

"While other companies have attempted to do wireless charging for mice, they have been unable to achieve true wireless power as their mice still need a battery to be charged. HyperFlux Wireless Power Technology is a game changer in the world of wireless gaming," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. "Gamers are no longer held at the mercy of a battery or cable. Instead, there will be true wireless freedom with a cordless gaming mouse that’s the same weight as a wired mouse."

The Mamba HyperFlux mouse uses Razer's Adaptive Frequency Technology (AFT) for improved signal strength. The mouse can search for and switch to the strongest signal within the 2.4GHz band, while the optical sensor inside the mouse is a 16,000 dpi 5G unit.

The Firefly HyperFlux mouse mat has RGB lighting around the perimeter and is dual sided with a hard side and a cloth side for flexibility. Lighting effects are powered by Razer Chroma and have 16.8 million color options. The Razer HyperFlux wireless hardware combo will launch in Q1 2018 and will sell for $249.99.
