Razer Phone Gaming Monster Unleashed With Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM, 120Hz Display, Massive Battery
That device is the Razer Phone. Although Razer has teased the device during the past month, and specs for the device have leaked, the Razer Phone was officially unwrapped this afternoon. When it comes to specs, the Razer Phone includes everything but the kitchen sink for mobile gamers.
Starting with the display, it measures 5.7 inches diagonally and is produced by Sharp. It's an IGZO display with a first-in-class refresh rate of 120Hz, and has a resolution of 2560x1440. The display also features what Razer calls Ultramotion, which is adaptive refresh technology similar to what you'd find with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync, syncing frame rendering from the GPU with the display.
On the audio front, the Razer Phone has dual stereo speakers and dual dedicated amps for a wicked awesome mobile audio experience. The smartphone supports Dolby ATMOS audio, is THX Certified and includes a 24-bit DAC.
Moving on to the cameras, the Razer Phone features dual 12MP cameras (f/1.75, f/2.6) on the back with seamless zoom, and an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. Razer didn't spend much time talking about the cameras, but mentioned that performance should be near the top of the class.
When it comes to performance, Razer spared no expense. You'll find Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, which is also featured on many of the latest high-end Android smartphones. However, Razer has included a massive 8GB of system RAM, which is double what most Android flagship smartphones have these days. Even the burly Samsung Galaxy Note 8 only includes 6GB of RAM.
Fueling this feature-packed monster is a 4,000 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+. According to Razer, Quick Charge 4+ will take the battery from 0 to 85 percent charge (3,400 mAh) in just an hour.
As for other odds and ends, 64GB of internal storage is included, but you can expand it with the included microSD slot. There's a fingerprint reader incorporated into the power button, and the Razer Phone features an all-aluminum CNC chassis. You'll also be happy to know that the Razer Phones ships with stock Android 7.1.1 -- Android 8.0 Oreo will be available as an update in Q1 2018. As for dimensions, the smartphone measures 158x78x8mm and weighs in at 197 grams.
The Razer Phone is available for preorder now priced at $699, and will ship on November 17th.
