Razer Project Valerie Gaming Notebook Packs Three Stunning 4K Displays

Razer Project Valerie
In the words of Toby Keith, “one more is never enough”. Razer just introduced “Project Valerie”, the first portable laptop with three built-in monitors. Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan, remarked, “Multi-monitor desktop set-ups are becoming more necessary for professionals, creators, and gamers. For the first time, we’ve engineered a solution that users can take with them. Project Valerie promises all of the functionality of three screens and none of the hassle.”

Many customers will probably come for the three screens, but stay for their quality. Each 17.3-inch 4K IGZO monitor boasts NVIDIA G-SYNC, which helps produce smooth framerates. The displays are also equipped with 180 degree NVIDIA Surround View gaming and 100 percent Adobe RGB color accuracy. The laptop can therefore be used for work and play.

How does the laptop contain three screens without being incredibly heavy or looking ridiculous? Each of the monitors mechanically slides out of the side of the main screen and adjusts into place. The chassis is made of CNC aluminum and measures 1.5 inches thick and weighs in at under 12 lbs.

The laptop itself is also nothing to sneer out. Project Valerie is equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and easily “exceeds the minimum requirements” for VR devices. It also maintains Razer’s well-known thermal management and system and Razer Chroma which provides lighting effects. Project Valerie is the the second Razer device as well to include Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical switches. These switches incorporate true actuation and reset point and are able to mimic the feel of a full-sized mechanical keyboard.

Project Valeria is very much a concept device and Razer is currently acquiring feedback before bringing the product to market. The device may be available at the end of 2017, however, there is currently not solid price or release date.
