Rimac Concept 2 1900hp Electric Hypercar Rips 0-60 Times Of Less Than 2 Seconds

Rimac C Two

The future of high-speed racing might very well be performed using electric vehicles. Performance-oriented electric hypercars are getting stupid fast, to go along with their sometimes aggressive styling, as we bear witness to once again from Rimac. The company's newest concept vehicle, the C Two, hit the pavement and went from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 1.85 seconds, believe it or not.

Hitting 60 mph in under 2 seconds is nothing short of incredible. It also makes the C Two one of the fastest cars in the world, electric or otherwise. The C Two is plenty powerful too, obviously, with nearly twice as many horses underneath the hood as its predecessor. Whereas the previous generation Concept One was capable of cranking out a whopping 1,073 horsepower, the new C Two has an eye-popping 1,914 hp.

Pretty insane, right? During the C Two's unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show yesterday morning, Rimac said the C Two has a top speed of 258 mph, and that it can accelerate to 186 mph in 11.8 seconds. It only takes 4.3 seconds for the C Two to reach 100 mph. It also has a quarter-mile time of 9.1 seconds, in case you need another number to underscore how incredibly fast the C Two is.

Of course, running at those speeds is not practical outside of a track setting. For daily driving (yeah, right), the C Two has a range of 403 miles before running out of juice. That comes by way of a battery pack that delivers 120 kWh energy and 1,4MW of power with "exceptional thermal management."

"Building on the knowledge gleaned from the brilliantly powerful Rimac Concept One, the all-new C Two combines the very best materials and bespoke technology to produce something both revolutionary and eminently useable, with performance and character that elevates the genre. There is—quite literally—no other car like it," Rimac says.

Rimac also claims the C Two can be charged to 80 percent capacity in 30 minutes, and that it designed the car "to be used hard, repeatedly, and reliably."

The C Two is also capable of Level 4 autonomous driving with AI hardware from NVIDIA. It has eight cameras, six radars, a dozen ultrasonic dots, and LIDAR. All that is left is for Rimac to announce pricing information and availability. Let's be real though, few among are likely to be to afford this thing.
