Rocket League To Power Its Vehicle Soccer Arena Mayhem For Xbox One Gamers In February

Xbox One owners jonesing for some soccer-meets-driving action will only have to sit on the sidelines for a little bit longer. Psyonix, the independent game developer and publisher behind Rocket League, is bringing its popular physics-based motor vehicle soccer game over to Xbox One consoles in February, the company announced.

Don't expect a lazy port. Instead, Psyonix promises a fully optimized version, one that will contain the same features, upgrades, and content found in the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions. It will also contain "several significant additions," including a pair of Battle-Cars exclusive to the Xbox One. They include the Halo "HogSticker," an alternate version of the Warthog Force Application Vehicle, and the Gears of War "Armadillo," an Armored Personnel Carrier.

"Our goal with Rocket League is to continually improve, grow, and evolve the game while keeping its core fundamentals in focus," said Dave Hagewood, Studio Director and CEO, Psyonix. "With our new Xbox One version, fans will not only get some great exclusives and a great value, but also, the kind of multiplayer gameplay that has made Rocket League a great passion for our players and for us."

Even though Xbox One owners will be showing up late to the party, they'll receive three previously-released DLC packs, including Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run at no additional cost. Only the Back to the Future Car Pack DLC won't be included, though it will be available to purchase on day or release.

Rocket League will run $20 on the Xbox One, same as what it costs for the PS4 and PC.
