Rocket League’s Cyberpunk-Fueled Neo Tokyo Update Arrives June 20th

Rocket League is getting a futuristic update. On June 20th the developers are releasing the game's largest update yet, “Neo Tokyo”. The new feature comes alongside several other new updates that Rocket League has been testing in the last month.

Neo Tokyo was originally part of “Rocket Labs” Playlist as “Underpass”. It was the first platform to have multiple levels and was inspired by user feedback. It is a retro-futuristic, cyberpunk-inspired stadium with neon lights and skyscrapers.

Collector’s Edition owners will also have early access to the Neo Tokyo-themed cars, “Esper” and “Masamune”. They will be available on June 24th in Europe and July 5th in North America.These vehicles will be exclusives until July 18th and will retail for $1.99 USD. The cars bring a “fresh anime aesthetic to Rocket League‘s ever-growing collection of playable vehicles.”

The Neo Tokyo update includes many other features. These include more than twenty “Rare” and “Very Rare” Item types for online, post-game drops, new “Painted” items that include different color variations, specific “Certified” items that track certain in-game stats, and a new “Trade-In” system that allows players to exchange multiple Items of one rarity type for an even rarer one.

 There is also new “Quick-Chat” customization options that make in-game communication faster. “Pillars” is a new experimental Arena that uses two massive walls to separate the field into three lanes. New “Post-Game” celebrations  show-off the winning team and allow them to jump, spin, and boost their cars. There will be new eight new Trophies and Achievements on all three platforms.  players to view and purchase all previously-released and future premium DLC in a new in-game “Showroom”.

Collector Edition’s owners will also have early access to two classic battle cars. The jet-inspired Aftershock and monstrous Marauder will be back in action. Both cars will maintain their original thematic style but also have a more modern visual look. They will also be exclusives until July 18th and retail for $1.99 USD.
