Rockstar Games Confirms Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Rides to Mobile in December

When it comes to waiting for ports, mobile gamers sometimes have it worse than the PC crowd. How so? Consider that while PC gamers are chomping at the bit (or "champing," if you want to avoid a citation from the grammar police) to play Grand Theft Auto V on their platform of choice, mobile gamers are still waiting for GTA: San Andreas. Well, good news mobile users, your wait has almost come to an end.

Rockstar Games today announced that San Andreas is headed to mobile devices next month. There aren't any screenshots to gawk at just yet, though Rockstar did say the mobile version will look better than any previous release. It will also feature brand new touch controls, contextual control options, a reworked checkpoint system for easier progression, and full controller support, including Made for iOS controller capability on iOS 7.

San Andreas

"Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release," Rockstar Games said. "Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet."

Look for San Andreas to land on select iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle, and Windows Mobile devices.
