Rumor: Intel x4n Series IGP Details

As with all rumors please take the following news item with a grain of salt until we receive official confirmation or denial from Intel.

Intel's upcoming x4n series of chipsets doesn't just feature the flagship x48, but an entire range of chipsets to blanket virtually every market segment.  One of the market segments that has been heating up recently is the IGP, and Intel doesn't plan to let AMD and NVIDIA run roughshod over them.  Initial rumors suggest that their next-generation integrated graphics will offer a serious performance upgrade over the current GMA 3100/3500 cores as well as DX10 support.

What about PCIe 2.0 support and 1600MHz FSB?  One out of two isn't bad:

“All the Eaglelake chipsets support PCI Express 2.0, but the G41 is expected to only go as far as PCIe 1.1. They also support dual-channel DDR 2 and DDR 3, with two slots per channel on the P45, P43, G45, Q45 and Q43, but only one with the others. They all support the 1333MHz frontside bus speed.”

Since many of the x35 chipsets have 'unofficial' 1600MHz FSBs, it wouldn't be surprising to see this trend continue in the 4-series chipsets.
