Samsung Announces Galaxy Note II, Launching on Five U.S. Carriers in Time for the Holidays

Samsung has just announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II, a phone designed to combine the best features of the Galaxy S III and the intriguing S Pen and its associated Pen apps.

The Galaxy Note II runs on a quad core 1.6Ghz Samsung Exynos processor and sports 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (up to 64GB with a microSD card), and a sizable 5.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a bigger battery (3100 mAh) than the first Galaxy Note, yet it’s lighter than its predecessor and has a slimmer bezel around the screen.

Exact details on pricing and availability will come from the carriers--presumably very soon--and the phone will be out around mid-November. Keep an eye out for word from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular.
