The South Korean electronics maker just cannot seem to figure out a way to make it work consistently, it appears.
An embedded fingerprint sensor is something that many people hoped would debut on Samsung's flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets. That did not happen, as Samsung had trouble getting it to work properly in time to start mass producing the new phones, so it was scratched from the list of finalized features.

"We made every effort to install a display-integrated fingerprint sensor on Galaxy Note 8, but we decided not to install it on this strategic phone due to various technical limitations such as security," a Samsung official reportedly told Naver, a Korean-language publication.
