Samsung Galaxy S10 Allegedly Has Punch-Hole Selfie Cam, In-Display Fingerprint Reader, Triple Rear Cams
One thing is always certain in the smartphone space—something newer, faster, and presumably better is right around the corner at any given time. New models roll off the lot at the same clip as automobiles. For Samsung, that means an inevitable Galaxy S10 is in the cards, and if the latest bit of leaked information is accurate, it will bring some big design changes to the Galaxy line.
The biggest one is a supposed "punch hole" element in the front display to house the front-facing selfie camera. Could this be the "Infinity-V" display that Samsung recently trademarked with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (Korea's equivalent of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, or USPTO)? It's certainly possible.
There was chatter that Samsung might go with a notched design after having mocked Apple's iPhone X for having one. Going that route could be hard for some Galaxy fans to swallow, so it wouldn't surprise us in the least if Samsung tried to downplay the move with a smaller notch, or punch hole, as it were.

Notorious leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) says it's coming, calling it "a pretty bold choice, if it pans out."
"Can't easily obfuscate and offset cutout like that, so I wonder how full screen content will look," Blass noted on Twitter.
He also shared a few other "preliminary Galaxy S10 details" about the unannounced handset. In addition to the punch hole (which he says could be part of an Infinity O display, not Infinity-V), the Galaxy S10 will also feature a triple camera arrangement on the rear of the handset, Blass says. These will consist of a standard camera sensor, a wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens.
The other bits he shared include an ultrasonic in-display FPS and a UI bump over Android Pie. We can also safely assume an upgraded processor, as is typical with each new generation of smartphone, and maybe even Samsung's 7-nanometer Exynos 9820.
There is no word yet on when the Galaxy S10 will arrive, though it will likely be on or around Mobile World Congress in February 2019.
