Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Cross Milky Way In New Leaked Photos

The closer we get to the launch of Samsung's next generation Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets, the more information is leaked to the media. That includes pictures, but don't worry, the newest unofficial photos follow (if just barely) the unwritten rule that all leaked snapshots must be poor quality.

We're not proponents of the unwritten rule, but given the number of leaked photos we've seen throughout the years, we're pretty certain it exists. More often than not, pre-release snapshots suffer from low lighting, copious blur as if the photographer taped his camera to a washing machine during the spin cycle, and other signs of bad photography.

Whatever, it is what it is. In this case, there are a couple of photos making the rounds. The first one, courtesy of ReviewDao.vn, purportedly shows the Galaxy S7's backside. It's not a crisp photo and the flares of reflected light from the ceiling are distracting (we did our best to clean things up), but you can still make out certain elements—the camera bulge appears flatter than in previous Galaxy handsets, and the curved backside looks line with what a pair of supposed press renders that notorious leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) posted a few weeks ago.

A second photo making the rounds purportedly shows the Galaxy S7 Edge. It comes from a user on Weibo, China's largest social network, and in it you can see the display wrap around the sides, same as its predecessor. Other than that, there's a few numbers and not much else

One of the big feature upgrades rumored to be coming to the next generation Galaxy handsets is a pressure sensitive display. This would be similar to Apple's Touch 3D technology and it would be interesting to see how Android developers make use of the functionality.

More recently, there's also been chatter of Samsung making its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge water resistant, a feature that's been a hallmark of Sony's Xperia handsets.
