We already know that Samsung will be unveiling its next major flagship smartphone at MWC 2018, as it was confirmed about a week ago by Samsung itself. A new leak has now surfaced that offers up alleged pre-order and ship dates for the smartphone. The timeline according to the recent leaks will look like this.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will debut on February 26. Pre-orders will kick off on March 1 and then official shipping will start on March 16. The tip comes from Evan Blass, who has a stellar history of leaking accurate information. According to Blass, the details come from a senior executive of a major case maker.

The timeline seems feasible, and the February 26 unveil matches up with what Samsung has already said will happen. The real question in the minds of many fans of the devices is will Samsung be able to make enough of the devices to meet initial demand.

Rumors about hardware inside the new S9 and S9 Plus smartphones point to one of two processors depending on your region. Either the Samsung Exynos 9810 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be used. The Exynos chip will be used in S9 devices that are for international markets and devices for the U.S. will run the Snapdragon 845.

The screen for the S9 is said to be a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED curved unit. RAM is tipped at 4GB and the smartphone is said to have a single rear camera. The S9 Plus is expected to get a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED curved screen with 6GB of RAM and a dual-rear camera system. Base storage for both smartphones is expected to be 64GB with a premium version of the S9 Plus tipped for 512GB of storage. The S9 is expected to start at around $700 with the S9 Plus starting at $800.
