Samsung Galaxy S9 Logo Emerges With Spec Leak That Looks Killer
With Samsung's Galaxy S8 (and S8+) having been on the market for a staggering six months now, it's time to look to the future. In other words: a time when Samsung unveils its Galaxy S9, a phone that's already being hyped to great levels despite the fact that it won't be out for months. In fact, the most tangible evidence we have right now of the S9 (and S9+) is the logo (seen later in the post).
Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8+
Most (or perhaps all) of the information that's come out about the Galaxy S9 has been leaked by respected leaker Benjamin Geskin. He says that the Galaxy S9 will ship with Qualcomm's SDM845, which would replace the Snapdragon 835 found in the S8. Note that while the chip number has in fact increased, Qualcomm changed its processor branding earlier this year, so the forthcoming SDM845 is not technically just "Snapdragon 845" but rather would referred to the "Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform." Either way, this leak claims the processor to be Qualcomm's next gen flagship mobile chipset solution.

Whereas the Galaxy S8 shipped with either 4GB or 6GB of memory, it's beginning to look like the S9 will ship with 6GB by default. Despite its placement in the high-end market, Samsung is joining many other vendors which have already shipped phones with 6GB of RAM as default, so perhaps with this move, the company feels that the extra memory is more worth it than ever.
It also appears that instead of 128GB storage being an upgrade option, it'll become the default one on the Galaxy S9, with the ability to bump up to 256GB. With the Galaxy S9, Samsung clearly wants to hit the likes of Apple very hard, especially at a time when the Cupertino company can release a $1,000 USD phone and not bat an eye.
Other notable Galaxy S9 rumors include a 4K resolution display, camera improvements, and the introduction of an AI-specific chip under the phone's hood. Perhaps also worth mentioning is that the phone is currently said to still include a headphone jack, which is great news for those that aren't too keen on using a USB-C adapter or Bluetooth headphones.
