Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 Retail Box Leaks Ahead Of MWC 2018 Reveal
Samsung is gearing up to launch its Galaxy S9 handset, we already know that. But what we don't know are the specs, or any standout features that Samsung's next flagship phone might bring to the table, at least not officially. Unofficially, however, a photo showing what is supposedly the retail packaging for the Galaxy S9 has leaked out, with legible text outlining a few interesting tidbits.
The leaked photo indicates that Samsung is going with a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy S9. It also makes note of the phone having 4GB of system memory and 64GB of built-in storage (there will likely be different SKUs, as always), supporting wireless charging, and coming with a set of earphones tuned by AKG (built-in speakers are tuned by AKG as well). And of course it is IP68 water and dust resistant, so no change there.

Mostly standard stuff, though where things get a little more interesting is when looking at the camera layout, especially the rear camera scheme. The retail packaging indicates a super speed 12MP Dual Pixel lens with optical image stabilization, same as the Galaxy S8, but with an aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4.
That suggests one of the two things—either the Galaxy S9 will have dual rear cameras, or it will have a single shooter with a variable aperture, as has been rumored. The box also lists Super Slow-mo, though it doesn't say how many frames per second it records at when in that mode. And as for the front camera, the Galaxy S9 is getting an 8MP shooter, which is the same pixel count as its predecessor.
Curiously missing is any mention of face unlocking. There's also no indication of the Galaxy S9 having a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display, so we'll have to wait and see about both of those things.
