Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Touches Ground at Verizon on August 17 for $350
Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is crashing Verizon's 4G LTE party starting on August 17, which is when you'll be able to buy the tablet outright from Big Red for $350 with no data contract required. Of course, if you want to take advantage of the 4G LTE radio embedded inside, you'll need to pair it with a data plan, though that's totally optional.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is the successor to Samsung's first-gen model and ranks as the least expensive tablet in Verizon's lineup. It's not a half-bad slate, either. Samsung's 4G LTE device is built around the increasingly popular 7-inch form factor and wields a 1024x600 TFT display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage, 3MP rear-facing camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and various other odds and ends wrapped in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
High-speed 4G LTE access is really the main selling point here, and according to Verizon, its customers have access to 4G LTE in 337 markets covering nearly 75 percent of the U.S. population.
