Samsung Galaxy Tab Sales Surpass 1 Million Units

Watch your back, Apple, the iPad is no longer the only game in town. Enter Samsung's Galaxy Tab -- you can read our evaluation of it here -- which might not qualify as a self-proclaimed "magical tablet," but has managed to entice over 1 million buyers all the same.

That's an impressive number for such a short period, made even more so by that fact that 11 days prior, Samsung announced it had sold 600,000 Galaxy Tabs. Like Samsung's Galaxy S smartphones, part of the credit has to do with Samsung's decision to shuttle the Galaxy Tab into every major carrier's hands, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

The early sales success has caused Samsung to increase its forecast from 1 million units to 1.5 million units sold by the end of the year. At the rate things are going, Samsung should have little trouble meeting its new goal.
