Samsung Reveals 7" Galaxy Tab 3 With 1.2GHz Dual-Core CPU
At this point, one has to wonder if the Galaxy family is simply becoming diluted. It's honestly difficult for even those who follow consumer technology to tell you without hesitation where the Galaxy range is at right now when it comes to phones, phablets, tablets, computers, and even more tablets. That said, it seems that Samsung's trying to milk a good thing while it can, similar to how Asus milked the Eee PC brand a few years ago. The newly-introduced Galaxy Tab 3 is a lower-end product, offering a 7" touch panel, a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, up to 64GB of expandable memory, and shipping with either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage space.
There's a measly 3MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and while it ships with Jelly Bean, it's not the latest version; instead, it's on Android 4.1. The Wi-Fi edition will ship globally in May, with the 3G version (which can make calls, believe it or not) to ship in June. There's no price, but it'll "vary by market." Does the world really need another 7" slate that isn't a Nexus? One has to wonder.
