Samsung Teases 7nm Exynos 9820 Monster SoC Destined For Galaxy S10
Samsung may be getting ready to announce its next-generation Exynos 9820 system-on-chip (SoC), if a recent Twitter post is any indication. The South Korean electronics maker posted a teaser image to its Samsung Exynos account, and it shows a mystery chip emerging from the side of an unidentified smartphone, perhaps the Galaxy S10.
To be clear, Samsung has not yet announced a Galaxy S10 smartphone, nor has it said anything about a Exynos 9820 processor. However, there have been several rumors pointing to the latter, dating back to at least this past June when notorious leaker Ice Universe claimed the Exynos 9820's Mongoose M4 cores would deliver performance "far beyond" that of ARM's Cortex-A76 (even though it's likely based on the Cortex-A76).

It is widely believe the Exynos 9820 is being manufacturing on a 7-nanometer process node. Apple is already at 7nm with its A12 Bionic chip, and presumably Qualcomm is not far behind with its next-generation Snapdragon product. There aren't any official details to go on at the moment, though the Twitter post indicates an announcement is coming on November 14, which is next Wednesday.
The Galaxy S10 is a logical destination for the Exynos 9820, at least in the international model—Samsung typically uses Qualcomm hardware for models shipping in the United States. The Galaxy S10 figures to be a powerful upgrade over the Galaxy S9, both in terms of the CPU and GPU, and the addition of 5G support.
There has also been talk of Galaxy S10 X variants. These are expected to wield a 6.4-inch display and target Apple's iPhone XS Max, with 8GB of RAM on the Galaxy S10 X and a whopping 12GB of RAM on the Galaxy S10 X 5G.
