Sapphire is looking to close out 2017 on a high note, and to help accomplish that, the company is releasing a pair of custom, factory-overlocked Radeon Vega graphics cards for gaming enthusiasts. The cards, each with custom cooling solutions, are the Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 56 and Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 64.

Before we get into the specifics of the cards, let's first start by going over the specifications of reference Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. The reference Radeon RX Vega 56 has 3584 stream processors and base/boost GPU clocks of 1156MHz and 1471MHz respectively. The Radeon RX Vega 64, on the other hand, has 4095 stream processors and goes with base and boost clocks of 1247MHz and 1546MHz.

The Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 56 sees its base and boost clocks increase to 1305MHz and 1572MHz respectively. Likewise, the Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 64 sees a significant uplift in its base and boost clocks to a heady 1423MHz and 1611MHz respectively. Both cards feature two 4GB stacks of HBM2 memory (8GB total) running at 800MHz on the Vega 56 and 945MHz on the Vega 64. Sapphire says that its tweaks allow for a roughly 7 percent boost in performance over reference cards.

When it comes to keeping heat emanating from the GPU in check, Sapphire has deployed a vapor chamber-based cooling system. Each card has three total fans: two 92mm dual-ball bearing fans running counterclockwise, and a central 80mm dual-ball bearing fan running clockwise.

Other things of note are that both cards feature a new Turbine-X system that allows you to control two external PWM fans mounted inside your rig using a dedicated hardware controller. Fan speed is then automatically adjusted via readouts from five thermal sensors mounted on the PCB. In addition, the Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega Series requires three 8-pin power connectors to operate, which should keep in mind.

The Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega Series should be available soon from your favorite online retailers.
