Score a 32GB Sony Tablet S for Just $260!

Amazon threw down the gauntlet when it launched its affordable Kindle Fire tablet (or glorified eBook reader, if you prefer), and ironically enough, it was Google who answered the challenge by just recently releasing its equally price-friendly Nexus 7 device built by Asus. But both of those -- along with Barnes & Noble's Nook Tablet -- are 7-inch gadgets, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, it leaves bargain shoppers who don't want a smaller tablet in a tough spot. What's an Android fan to do?

Well, if you can live with a Sony Tablet S, you can find a 32GB model going for a mere $260 today at online deal site Woot. That's by far the cheapest we've seen this device sell for, and these are new units, not refurbished or recertified hardware. On Sony's website, the same tablet goes for $425, and even the 16GB model sells for more money ($325).

Sony Tablet S

If you're on the fence, check out our review of the Sony Tablet S. It's not our favorite Android device, but with the introduction of Ice Cream Sandwich, it's a pretty nifty 9.4-inch slate with decent hardware (Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM). Had it been priced at $260 to begin with, we would have been more enthusiastic about it.

That said, the deal is only good for today or until sold out. At that price, we're willing to be these don't last very long.
