Sony's 2019 Xperia Phone Family Specs And Images Leaked With Bezel-Heavy Designs

Smartphone makers have waged war against the traditional bezel that once occupied the top section of nearly every handset. From punch-hole cutouts (Galaxy S10 series) to notches big (iPhone X/XS) and small (OnePlus 6T), traditional bezels have become passé. Don't tell that to Sony, though—leaked renders of its upcoming Xperia family embrace the bezel with the same fervor as a mother clutching her newborn baby.

If the leaked information proves accurate, Sony is getting ready to announce four new Xperia handsets, including the Xperia 1 (previously known as the Xperia XZ4), Xperia 10, Xperia 10 Plus, and Xperia L3. Out of those models, the Xperia 1 stands as the flagship model with a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display supporting HDR visuals. It will also feature Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and rear, and offer IP68-certified water resistance.

Famed leaker Evan Blass posted a few press renders of the upcoming handsets on Twitter (shown above and up top). We can see a triple camera arrangement on the of the Xperia X1, which reportedly consists of three 12-megapixel sensors (a normal lens, a wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens), while the other models each wield two cameras.

The Xperia X1 will also wield a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage, which users can bolster by way of a microSD card slot. Other features include 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM slots, USB Type-C connectivity, and a 3,300 mAh battery.

Sony's Xperia 10 and 10 Plus models fall into the mid-range category with the former sporting a 6-inch display powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, and the latter featuring a 6.4-inch display powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM, and the same amount of storage. Both have an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies, and 13MP and 5MP shooters on the rear.

The Xperia L3 is the lowest end (and most affordable) model of the bunch. It gets a 5.7-inch HD+ display powered by a MediaTek 6762 processor and 3GB of RAM. it also has an 8MP camera on th front, but 13MP and 2MP sensors on the back.

Pricing in Swiss Francs is said to be CHF 1,099 (~$1,099) for the Xperia 1 (available in June), CHF 499 (~$499) and CHF 399 (~$399) for the Xperia 10 Plus and Xperia 10, respectively (available in April), and CHF 199 (~$199) for the Xperia L3 (available in April).
