Sony Brings PS4 Games To Windows PCs Via Netflix-Style PlayStation Now Streaming Service

PS4
If you have ever felt the desire to play PlayStation 4 games, but don’t want to plunk down $300 (or more) for the console when you already have a beastly gaming PC, Sony understands your dilemma. PS4 games are now available via Sony’s PlayStation Now game streaming service, which is turning out to be the console gaming equivalent of Netflix.

Games can be streamed either to a PS4 console or to a Windows computer. You don’t have to worry about fiddling with Blu-ray discs or even downloading/installing the game (as with Xbox Game Pass) — games are simply streamed at the press of a button as long as you have a fast and stable internet connection.

By streaming with PlayStation Now, you are given access to features you would typically find on Sony consoles including trophies, invites and the ability to access PS4 cloud saves using cloud storage. We should mention, however, that the list below of currently available PS4 titles leaves much to be desired. There’s nothing here that really jumps out at us or registers as a “must have”, but we can’t argue with Sony’s decision to expand the PlayStation Now gaming catalog:

  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • God of War 3 Remastered
  • Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
  • WWE 2K16
  • Tropico 5
  • Ultra Street Fighter IV
  • F1 2015
  • Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition
  • Evolve
  • MX vs ATV Supercross Encore
  • Resogun
  • Helldivers
  • Broken Age
  • Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition
  • Grim Fandango Remastered
  • Akiba’s Beat
  • Castlestorm Definitive Edition
  • Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky
  • Nidhogg
  • Super Mega Baseball

With the addition of the above games, Sony says that PlayStation Now currently includes over 500 games (with the majority of them being PS3 titles).

Sony offers a 7-day free trial of PlayStation Now for free, and you can choose to subscribe to the service for $9.99 once that freebie period expires. If you really like the service, Sony will sell you a one-year subscription for $99.99 (this offer is good through September 22nd).
