Sony Debuts New Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Trailer, Ignores Internet Haters

If your brain hasn't already shut down from the sheer amount of details to come out of this year's E3, then here's something else to shove down your gullet: a new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer.

Let's state the obvious: Call of Duty trailers are never received well by those who love to troll. Even those who wouldn't have played the game anyway love to jump in and toss in their ridicule. It's a bit odd, but it is what it is. The backlash led the original trailer release to score a staggering 2.8 million dislikes at YouTube, versus its 460 thousand likes. That caused Activision's CEO to come out and handle the situation like a champ.

With how that first trailer was received, though, it seemed obvious that future trailers would be treated similarly, and today, we can see that's just the case. A brand-new trailer released last night, and as of the time of writing, about 60% of the votes are dislikes - despite the trailer showing off a Call of Duty game that's really quite different than all of the others. It's probably clear at this point that CoD is a series people are just going to hate on - there is no winning, except for Activision, which continually fattens its wallet with each new release.

Unlike most trailers, this one actually shows gameplay, to give you an idea of exactly what you'll be experiencing after loading the game up. The entire trailer encompasses everything many vocal fans are not pleased about: that the series is going way too far into the future. We're talking space fights, super-advanced mechs, and more. One thing we can't help but wonder is: if this game wasn't tied to the CoD series, what would the majority of people would suddenly think? All things considered, this game looks good.

We'd respectfully question the trailer's 1080p/60 format, though, as despite this being a PlayStation 4 trailer, it's obvious that this isn't PS4 gameplay. Either way, it could very well be a hint to what we can expect to see from the PlayStation 4.5, codenamed NEO.
