Sony Revives PS2 Classics Bully And Manhunt For The PlayStation 4

If you need a break from your catalog of current games and crave some old school action, good news. Sony has gone and quietly added a couple of notable PlayStation 2 titles to the PlayStation Store. They include Bully and Manhunt, two Rockstar games that are both now playable on the PlayStation 4 console using its PS2 emulation software.

Bully

As with just about any Rockstar release, both Bully and Manhunt were controversial releases when they first debuted. With Bully, the game's title along with Rockstar's reputation for games that highlight depravity like its Grand Theft Auto series, there was fear that it would promote or otherwise downplay school bullying prior to its release. However, the game's protagonist is a teenager named Jimmy who fights back against bullies (and other cliques).

As for Manhunt, it drew criticism for its unapologetic focus on graphic violence, oftentimes by sadistic methods. You play as a death row inmate who's saved from execution by a man named Starkweather, otherwise known as the Director. He sedates you, drops you off in a rough neighborhood littered with cameras, and tasks you with killing various gang members. Why the cameras? The Director is making a series of snuff films.

Though they were controversial for different reasons, both titles received generally positive reviews from the media and players alike. If you missed out on one or the other and want to see what all the fuss was about, now's your chance to do so. Each title is priced at $14.99 and boasts "full 1080p up-rendering and enhanced features such as trophies, shareplay, remote play, activity feeds, and second screen support for game manuals with 'PS Vita' or PS App."
