This Is Sony’s List Of Over 30 Launch Titles Optimized For PS4 Pro 4K And HDR Capabilities
We are now just a week away before the retail launch of the PlayStation Pro, a beefier version of the original PlayStation 4 console with burlier hardware and support for 4K video output and High Dynamic Range (HDR). As we get closer to launch, the question on everyone's mind is how many games will support the PS4 Pro's new capabilities out of the gate. The answer is more than 30.
That figure comes straight from Sony. And by the end of the year, Sony said there will be more than 45 titles optimized for the PS4 Pro. In both cases, some of the games will need an update to support the PS4 Pro's new tricks while others will already be optimized.
"Some games have updates to add Pro support, while more recent titles like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare have Pro enhancements built into the base game," Sony said.
The PS4 Pro comes in a slick new chassis that boasts a 30 percent reduction in volume, is 16 percent lighter, and consumes 28 percent less power than the original PS4. However, it's the hardware upgrades that are of most interest. To that end, the PS4 Pro has a 30 percent faster processor and an onboard GPU that is twice as powerful as before.
Sony is billing the PS4 Pro as an evolution of the PS4 generation rather than a new generation console. As such, it will not receive any exclusive titles and will be compatible with all original PS4 games. That said, Sony said that when it launches on November 10, 2016, virtually all new games will take advantage of the console's advanced capabilities on day one (or shortly thereafter).
