Sony’s Xperia Z4 Makes Global Debut As More Aptly Named Z3+
Through Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare taught us that a rose is still a rose no matter what you call it (he had Juliet put it a bit more elegantly than that), and so it goes with Sony's weather resistant Xperia Z4, a well equipped smartphone that's about to launch globally under a different name. Perhaps in an attempt to pay homage to its predecessor (or because the new model looks just like the old one), the global model will be known as the Xperia Z3+.
The handset is slim and light at just 6.9mm thick and 144g. And like the Z3, the Plus version is both waterproof and dust-proof, so you needn't rush to shove it back in your pocket if you get caught in a drizzle or dust storm. Interestingly, the Z3+ sports a capless (read: exposed) USB port so that it's more convenient to charge, yet it's still a waterproof design with IP65 and IP68 certification, Sony says. Whatever wizardry is at play, we like it.

For gamers who want to venture out of their bedrooms, you can connect the Xperia Z3+ to a PlayStation 4 console via home Wi-Fi and continue to frag using the DualShock 4 wireless controller -- that's pretty nifty.
International buyers will have four color options to choose from -- black, white, and "a new interpretation of copper and aqua green." The phone will also come in single SIM and dual SIM variants when it launches globally next month.
