Spire CoolForce II, Ultra 400W PSU and More

G'day all, welcome back to Hot Hardware.  Well, I think winter is officially here in the Great White North.  Awaking to a surprisingly heavy dump of snow, I had to actually clean the car off before I headed into work.  Maybe I should clean the garage enough so I could actually park it in there?! ;)

Here is your AM shot of news...

Spire CoolForce II CF202-NBL Graphics Card Cooler Review @ Madshrimps

"Spire´s CoolForce II is made to fit any card in the Geforce 4 Ti series and includes everything necessary to switch from the current "stock" cooling to the brand spanking new one and squeeze out a bit of extra performance at the same time."

Ultra 400W Dual LED ATX PSU @ Viper Lair

"Image is not everything though. I have seen many things that look awesome on the outside, but are not so nice once you start using them. The Ultra 400W UV power supply is definitely not such a product. It not only looks good, but has the performance to back it up."

Ultra X-Connect 500W Modular Power Supply Review @ CoolTechZone

"Computer power supplies are one of the least taken care of components in today's setups. While majority of the enthusiasts pay close attention to power supplies, many budding users lay off on this crucial component. Although it doesn't seem that way, power supplies are just as important as graphics cards, microprocessors, and motherboards. Without a brand name power supply, a computer may remain unstable until the problem has been found and fixed. It's also a proven fact that many non-brand power supplies doesn't handle overclocking very well, and they are one of the hardest components to target when looking to troubleshoot a system."

 HTPCnews.com Review: Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U USB2 PVR

"Plextor's latest digital encoding device is being marketed at the home user even more so than in the past with their products.  Today HTPCnews.com takes a look at their first ever external USB2 Tuner DivX Hardware encoding box.  For HTPC users and regular PC users alike, this unit can do things that we've only dreamed of doing with software... Encode high quality DivX on the fly and even time shift with it.  For those of you looking to make your first PVR but don't want to deal with hefty MPEG2 file sizes, this just might be what you're looking for...  HTPCnews breaks it down and compares it to "the standard" of hardware encoding, the Hauppauge PVR250."

XFX GeForce 6600 GT AGP 8x @ GamePC Labs

"Today at GamePC, we've taken a look at the new XFX GeForce 6600 GT AGP, the first AGP-enabled nVidia NV43 based card to hit the market. The GeForce 6600 GT was originally designed for PCI Express systems, but using a new nVidia bridge chip, XFX has brought this graphics chip to the much broader AGP market. We test this card to other high-end and mid-range AGP cards to see how it stacks up."
