Splashtop Remote Access Software: Now Supporting Macs

With the explosion of "the cloud," remote access has become a sector where lots of growth is taking place. And as more and more media goes hosted on connected storage devices, people will become increasingly interested in pulling down data from remote locations. Splashtop has been a big player in the market, and while the company sought first to provide Windows users with the ability to access their home PC files while on an iPad or iPhone, they're today extending that support to Macs.

It's a bit backwards we guess, but we'll take it. Splashtop Remote Desktop software now supports OS X, which means that users of iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook Pro and Air, and Mac Mini can seamlessly access and control their home or office Mac remotely using a tablet, such as an iPad, or a smartphone, such as an iPhone. The Splashtop product family also includes support for Windows, iOS clients, and Android devices, essentially giving desktop users the ability to access files on their machines from their portable, handheld devices.

With Splashtop Remote, users can watch movies, listen to music, access all of their files and applications, and play PC, Mac, and Flash games remotely, but of course this all depends on how impressive your upload speed is.
