Spoiler Alert? Spotify Uses Streaming Data to Predict Grammy Winners

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will return to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10, airing live on CBS from 8-11:30 PM, but might we already know the winners? We would if it were up to Spotify users! The streaming music service analyzed its data streams to predict which nominees would walk away with gilded gramophones.

For the Album of the Year category, Spotify's data suggests Mumford & Son's folk album Babel is a lock, beating out rock albums from The Black Keys and Jack White, and breakouts from Fun. and Frank Ocean.

Goyte featuring Kimbra will snag both Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with "Somebody That I Used to Know," while The Lumineers will take home a gramophone for Best New Artist.

Of the remaining two categories, Carly Rae Jepsen will win Best Pop Solo Performance for "Call Me Maybe" and Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" will earn the Best Country Song award, beating out Ronnie Dunn, Eli Young Band, Alan Jackson, and Eric Church.
