Sprint Nabs Touch Pro 2

Sprint customers who’ve been waiting for the HTC Touch Pro2 won’t have to wait much longer. This hot new phone will be available on Sprint’s network beginning September 8 for $349.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement.

The Touch Pro2 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and the TouchFLO user interface. The latest version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D user interface makes it easy to switch from email to a call with a single touch. The phone also supports many of Sprint’s entertainment applications including Sprint TV with live and on-demand programming, NFL Mobile Live, and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile.

The phone features a 3.6-inch WVGA variable-angle tilting touch screen and a slide-out keyboard that is larger than its predecessor. In terms of connectivity, the Touch Pro2 supports EVDO Rev. A and Wi-Fi. The phone also offers International Quad-Band capability (CDMA, GSM).

Additional business features include Straight Talk Technology with dual speakers; dual microphones and a mute button to provide a professional speakerphone experience; full HTML browser from Opera; stereo Bluetooth wireless technology; WorldCard Mobile Business Card Scanner; Facebook integration; and Linked inboxes, which link personal and work contacts.
