Sprint Offers WiMAX-Enabled iPad With Overdrive + iPad Case

Apple doesn't ship their iPad with a case of any kind. In fact, the Apple-branded iPad case is a stiff $40, so there's a good chance that iPad owners are looking for cheaper alternatives. Sprint, of all companies, hopes that you'll give their accessory shop a look before making a final decision. It's definitely not like Sprint to market cases, but we have to admit, this one is pretty funny.

It's called the 4G Case, and while it's obviously designed to hold your iPad, there' a front pocket there for something else. Something else being an Overdrive. The Overdrive is a portable 3G/4G (WiMAX) WWAN modem, which can connect to Sprint's 3G or 4G network (if you're in range), and then allow up to five devices to tap into that network over Wi-Fi. Apple's iPad has Wi-Fi, so you can make the connection: Sprint wants to offer you a 4G iPad (of sorts), and it's even making a case for you to carry around both devices with ease (and style).

To get the case, just stop by your local Best Buy. There's no price posted, but it'll probably be between $19.99 and $29.99. Of course, getting an Overdrive will cost you around $59.99 per month, so that 4G iPad won't come cheap.
