Steam Summer Sale Kicks Off Tomorrow Confirms Blabbermouth PayPal
Three things in life are guaranteed—death, taxes, and Steam sales. While we are not real keen on the first two, we love a good Steam sale, even though our games library is already overflowing with titles we picked up at a discount and may never get around to playing (or at least finishing). Such is the struggle and it will be compounded this weekend when Steam kicks off its summer games sale.
Whether or not Valve wanted everyone to know ahead of time is not known. Either way, it was PayPal's UK Twitter account that spilled the beans in a tweet announcing the imminent sale. According to the Twitter post, discounted games will flood Steam's game store starting tomorrow, June 22, at precisely 6:00 PM British Summer Time (BST). That works out to 1:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) and 10:00 AM Pacific Time (PT).
It’s official. The #SteamSummerSale starts 22/06 at 6pm BST and PayPal customers get an extra £5 off *terms apply. https://t.co/PdXnlKZ6qh pic.twitter.com/hobxCz3TBm

If you're new to PC gaming, first and foremost welcome to the fold. Also, congratulations on seeing the light and kicking that dirty little console to the curb where it belongs (we kid...maybe?). Now that you're one of us, here's a heads up that Steam will continually pry funds from your wallet or purse through frequent sales, several of which are annual traditions. For example, during Steam's winter sale that ran through January 2 of this year, Steam offered hefty discounts on several titles, including:
- Just Cause 3—75 percent off ($14.99)
- Insurgency—80 percent off ($1.99)
- Doom (2016)—67 percent off ($19.79)
- Project Cars III—67 percent off ($9.89)
In any event, happy hunting. If you find a great deal, be sure to let us know in the comments section below!
