Super Retro Boy Emulator Resurrects Classic Nintendo Game Boy Handheld

The Super Retro Boy on the surface is a carbon copy of Nintendo’s classic Game Boy. Gamers, however, can play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Gameboy Advance cartridges. The device also incorporates an extra pair of buttons on the face in order to support Game Boy Advance titles that rely upon shoulder buttons. Super Retro Boy includes a 2,500 mAh rechargeable battery that lasts up to ten hours, so your device will not die in the middle of a Pokémon gym battle. Parents will also be delighted to know that the device features a scratch and shatter-resistant TFT HD display and textured side grips.
The Super Retro Boy was a major hit at CES 2017. Retro-Bits won the Best in Gaming Award from the event. Other items the company featured at CES 2017 included its HDMI-compatible Super Retro Trio, Retro Bits Generation Portable, and the MEGA table.
The original Game Boy was released in Japan and the United States in 1989. The device was an immediate hit, and Nintendo sold millions of copies by holiday season that year. Popular games included Tetris, which to date as sold 30.26 million copies, and Pokémon Red and Blue. The Game Boy and Game Boy Color were discontinued in the early 2000’s in favor of the Game Boy Advance. The Game Boy Advance continues to be an incredibly popular device, and has sold 81.51 million units worldwide since its release date in 2001.
