Swing That Axe, Baby: Revamped "Gauntlet" Coming To Steam This Year
Warner Bros. is bringing back “Gauntlet”, and the classic title will be arriving on Steam for PC this summer with full support for SteamOS and Steam Machines. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios Studios is collaborating on the project that will be a modern overhaul of the 1980s game.
“With ‘Gauntlet’ we combined the arcade style of the original game with an entirely new look and feature set that includes emergent, local and online four-player gameplay,” said David Haddad, Senior Vice President, Digital Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in a press release.
You can choose between the Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, or Elf and hack your way through dungeons full of terrifying creatures and handle various challenges while collecting special items and magic relics.
But that’s not the whole story here; Warner Bros. is looking to make revamping classic titles a habit. Haddad also said, “‘Gauntlet’ will be the first title in the WB Games Vault portfolio, which will provide us with an opportunity to access emerging talent within the game development community and match unique skills and experience with our extensive library of properties.”
