T-Mobile Goes Crazy For Pikachu With Unlimited Free Pokémon Go Data Through August 2017

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you’ve most definitely heard about Pokémon Go. The mobile game for Android and iOS has simply taken the world by storm and has surpassed mighty Candy Crush to become the biggest mobile game in U.S. history.

T-Mobile, always a company to seize on an opportunity to offer a new wide-eyed promotion or spit in the face of the competition, is also jumping on the Pokémon Go bandwagon. The company announced today that it is giving all of its new and existing customers free, unlimited data when playing Pokémon Go. So you can go searching for a Krabby or Jigglypuff without having to dig into your high-speed data pool. T-Mobile’s generous offer extends all the way through August 2017.

“With the carriers’ shared data schemes, players could easily burn up the family’s data bucket – and then, hello, overages,” said T-Mobile CEO John Legere. “At T-Mobile, we’re unleashing Pokémon Go so our customers can play free for a year.”

To make the offer even sweeter for Pokémon Go fans, T-Mobile is also giving away $100 each in PokéCoins to 250 of its customers and will send five people (and a guest) on their very own Pokémon Go hunting trip to anywhere in the U.S.

In order to take advantage of this Pokémon Go goodness, customers will need to download the T-Mobile Tuesdays app for iOS or Android and claim the free offer (the offer will be redeemable from July 19th through August 9th).
