T-Mobile Slashes Samsung Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge Prices By Up To $200
Earlier this week, we brought you news that Samsung made good on its promise to slash prices on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge following a disappointing quarter. Those first price cuts hit Europe, and now the price slashing spree has spread to the United States one week ahead of Samsung’s big “Unpacked” event.
T-Mobile is the first U.S. carrier to take the plunge, cutting prices on both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. On the Galaxy S6 front, prices have been dropped by a modest $100 each for the 32GB and 64GB models. That means that you’ll be able to grab the smartphone off-contract for $579.99 and $659.99 respectively. The biggest price cut, however, is reserved for the 128GB model, which drops to just $659.99 (who in their right mind would purchase the 64GB model?).
As for the Galaxy S6 Edge, the 32GB and 64GB also receive $100 price cuts, dropping to $679.99 and $759.99 respectively. The 128GB model, like its Galaxy S6 counterpart, receives a $200 reduction, bringing the price down to $759.99. Again, the 64GB model is the odd man out.
Interestingly, T-Mobile says that this is a “Limited Time” offer, even though Samsung appears to be making these price cuts permanent across the board in a bid to boost smartphone sales and leave some space for incoming flagships. With that being said, if you’re in the market for a new Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, now may be the perfect time to grab one.
Or if you prefer to wait, Samsung is set to launch the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ on August 13. There aren’t many surprises for the Galaxy S6 Edge+, as it is simply a supersized version of of the standard Galaxy S6 Edge. However, the Galaxy Note 5, as we have previously reported, has lost the microSD slot and removable battery that were found on the current generation Galaxy Note 4.
