Temple Run 2 Makes a Mad Dash to U.S. Tonight

Recovering Temple Run addicts who finally managed to stop playing the endless action game developed by Imangi Studios are going to feel like Michael Corleone did in Godfather III when he said, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." That is, unless you can resist Temple Run 2, which is already available in New Zealand and slated to launch later tonight in the U.S.

The second coming of Temple Run introduces all new graphics and organic environments, though the gameplay is mostly the same as before. Only this time around, there will be new obstacles, more powerups, more achievements, special powers for each character, and a bigger monkey intent on tearing your limbs apart.

Temple Run 2

"With over 170 million downloads, Temple Run redefined mobile gaming. Now get more of the exhilarating running, jumping, turning and sliding you love in Temple Run 2! Navigate perilous cliffs, zip lines, mines and forests as you try to escape with the cursed idol. How far can you run?!," Temple Run 2's description on iTunes reads.

As with the original, Temple Run 2 will be free to play, and of course you'll have the option of buying coins for in-game purchases. Initially it will only be available on iOS, though we hear an Android version isn't far behind.
