The iTunes Store Shows Off its Top 2008 Sellers
We all have our own personal predilections for what we like and dislike; but sometimes it's interesting to know what every else thinks. Some call this natural curiosity, while others might refer to it as trying to keep up with the Joneses. Either way, Apple hopes that allowing folks to get a gander at what the most popular downloads on iTunes have been for 2008 will prompt them to discover some new favorites and add them to their growing collections. As such, the front page of the iTunes Store (accessible via the iTunes application), now includes a link for "2008 iTunes: We've collected Our Favorites and Yours." From here you can see what the most popular TV Shows, Music, Movies, Apps, Podcasts, and Audiobooks on iTunes in 2008 have been.
Of the top 100 most popular paid apps, not quite half of them (42) cost 99 cents. The two most expensive Apps of the top 100 are BeatMaker and OmniFocus, which both cost $19.99 each. The most expensive games of the top 100 are Spore Origins and X-Plane 9, which both sell for $9.99 each
